Upgrading to PHP5 with GoDaddy Hosting
Many of you already know that in order to have a kimtown website, you need to be running PHP5 or greater with your host. You can contact customer support to change it for you, but that can sometimes take longer than if you do it yourself.
I have an .htaccess code I can use for those of you that host with 1and1.com (since their CS is less than desirable) and are on PHP4, but I’ve not yet found a workaround solution for GoDaddy. So…here is how you can update to PHP5 in your GoDaddy panel, yourself.
- Log in to your account on GoDaddy.com
- Once you login click HOSTING on the left side

- Once your domain name comes up in the center area, click MANAGE ACCOUNT

- Once in your Account Summary click on CONTENT then ADD-ON LANGUAGES

- Once in, simply select PHP5 and CONTINUE (follow confirmation after this screen)
